My T140V

I think it was back in September of last year, the guys at Meriden were doing some work on my T140 Bobber, I mentioned to John the story of when I first got into Triumphs.

1981 Abbey garage in Uxbridge had a collection of Triumphs, I remember actually going with Dad to sign the papers for the hire purchase, he actually needed to sign as I didn’t have a credit rating, It was a great day, I still remember it like yesterday following him home, finally I have decent bike, I went every where it was my only form of transport, I told John it would be great to live that feeling again.

Sharing the story with John, I went through what I could remember, the bike was the red and cream, US spec, right hand shift, P Reg, I think that was a 1976. John in his usual educational style “must of been a 74 as they didn’t make right hand shift in 76” well excuse me Professor Triumph.
John asked me if I would be interested in looking at a right hand shift, he takes me in to the back where he shows me this pre loved 74, in a right mess, he said I could get the same as the one you picked up in 81.

Six months later here we are good as new, as I rode away from the shop down the country lanes towards Warwick, grin factor must have been at the max, thinking back to that day back in 81 at Abbey Garage.

I must say it was a real pleasure working with guys that really know what they are talking about and give you the confidence in what they say they will deliver.

John kept me updated with emails and photos during the build, we agreed on a price before the work started and he came within budget, anyone thinking of buying, restoring or just having some work done, don’t even consider going any where else.

Ok John whats the next project, you know I like the 61

Hi guys, just to say that the work that you carried out to retrofit an electric start to my Triumph Metisse is first class.

The bike starts first push of the button, every time.

All who have seen the installation have had more than favourable comments.

I have recommended you to all of my friends and colleagues with classic bikes as I am positive they will all be thrilled with the standard of your work.

I am willing to speak to any potential customers that would like to have feedback of my experience with Meriden Motorcycles.

Best regards

I cannot recommend Meriden Motorcycles highly enough. The guys are very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

They are experienced chaps with in depth knowledge of many motorcycles and particularly the ‘quirks’ of Classic machines.

I was impressed with the work they did on my BSA Rocket 3 and they kept me frequently updated as to the progress of the work on the bike.

I’ll definitely consider using their services in the future.

Best regards

I found out about Meriden motorcycles in Classic Bike Guide and decided to give them a call. They were really friendly to deal with and extremely knowledgable.

I required an exact replica of the original paintwork from a T120RV. They knew exactly what I needed and had the tank back to me within 2 weeks.

The result is spectacular.

I Look forward to coming up to see you on the bike, in the summer.

Best regards

I bought this beautiful Triumph Thruxton from Meriden Motorcycles, it is my first bike and could not be happier with it.

The lads from Meriden even brought it to Liverpool for me they were so helpful.

I was apprehensive buying my first bike but I was lucky to find out about Meriden Motorcycles and after talking, e-mailing and eventually meeting up with the two Johns that apprehension disappeared. And now I get to ride my dream bike.

The two Johns are so passionate about Triumph and when you meet them you’ll know what I mean.

Best regards

Thanks for sorting the problems on my Bonneville in such a sensible and cost effective way.

You have turned it into a nice , useable and thoroughly enjoyable bike. It starts and runs really nicely now.

These days, it is nice to be pleasantly surprised that you have received an excellent value for money service !

Look forward to seeing you again soon (with another bike!!)

Best regards

What I was particularly impressed with- the contrast between what you served up – and the more usual treatment given out in garages.

Real enthusiasm- an end product which was better than I might have insisted on- and good contact with you people. The first pics sent thro’of the dismantled engine was a good sign to start off with. This was followed by good involvement with progress pics, and a detailed 2 way discussion of what was recommended, and what we would do.

The picture of the rebuilt engine need no comment- just a stunner!

Now started on the frame and hope to bring it across for finishing thro’ the winter.

Dealing with Meriden Motorcycles was as about as trouble free an experience
it possibly could be when it came to restoring my 1973 Triumph Trident T150V
to road worthiness. (Off the road since 1984)

I was informed every step of the way during the restoration and as a result there
were no nasty surprises. Since “The Old Lady’s” return I have spent some very
happy hours riding what I consider the loveliest sounding “triple” ever produced.

I would recommend Meriden Motorcycles without hesitation to anybody based
upon my recent experience of their service ad undoubted expertise.

I found out about Meriden Motorcycles on the Internet after deciding I wanted a Triumph Bonneville. After an informative conversation with them I decided to pay them a visit. They are very easy to get to near Meriden village, but you could so easily not know they were there and miss a real treat! The first thing I did was spend half an hour looking at all the beautiful bikes they had in various states of renovation or repair. I felt like I had turned the clock back 40 years, it was a bit like being a child in a toy shop. The two Johns who work there are very likeable and helpful with a great sense of humour. After less than a week they had found a 1976 Bonneville for me that was absolutely stunning. I bought it straight away and they delivered it to my house. The after sales service has been brilliant and they will open up a new life for you if you wanted with organised runs etc. I would thoroughly recommend them to anybody.
